What I Do for Lilly

Currently, I consult with our Latin American affiliates on their compensation programs. This includes assisting with data, coordinating the review process, and working with them to gain approval for their programs. In addition, I work on various other compensation projects.

Career Path

I am part of a rotation program that provides experience in and exposure to different areas of Human Resources. I’ve recently joined the compensation group for my third rotation. Prior to that, I spent time in our HR Direct department and U.S. Recruiting and Staffing.

The Reason I Came to Lilly

I was a HR intern at Lilly between my junior and senior years of college and really enjoyed my experience. While I was not sure what exactly I wanted to do upon graduation, what mattered to me was choosing a strong, reputable company with opportunities for growth and development and a good work environment. Lilly fit that profile for me.

How Lilly Has Helped Me Develop in My Career

By being a part of the rotation program, I have had the opportunity to experience different areas of HR and network with a variety of people in the organization. In addition to gaining technical knowledge, I have enhanced my leadership, problem solving, and communication skills.

Challenge or Struggles

My biggest challenge has been learning each part of the organization quickly and knowing whom to contact within each area.

How I Would Describe My Transition from Campus to Lilly

Since I had had an internship here, the transition was fairly easy. I knew a lot of people in Indy and at Lilly and knew what it was like here. I had a lot of contact with my recruiter and future manager before I came. Still, it’s very different from college life. I had to get used to a different schedule and a different type of work.

Things About Indianapolis I Didn't Know

Before I moved here, I knew Indy only for the malls and shopping, but when I found a place to live on the canal, I discovered all of the activities and events that happen downtown.
