What
I Do for Lilly
I solve problems to optimize the manufacturing
processes.
What I Like
Best About Working at Lilly
Making medicine. Working on products that
improve the quality of lives for patients
worldwide is very rewarding and motivating.
Strict quality guidelines are very important,
because we impact a human life at the end
of the process.
I didn’t know about all the opportunities
an engineer could have here—to improve
technical expertise in engineering or to
go in other areas of the business.
The Reason I Came
to Lilly
The people...I wanted to work with people
who were talented, motivated and who would
make coming to work fun. I found that here.
Also, Lilly’s commitment to conduct
business in an ethical manner is really
important to me.
Challenges or Struggles
The pharmaceutical industry faces a negative
reputation in the public. We, as a company,
have to work hard to make sure we are educating
the public about the great work we do and
the importance of continuing to innovate
answers to unmet medical needs.
How I Would Describe My Boss and Our Working
Relationship
My manager is a dynamite mentor, someone
who challenges me and allows me to challenge
her as well. She listens to my wants and
needs and does her best to fulfill them.
Favorite Pastimes
Dancing, singing, working out, cooking,
traveling.
I teach ballet part-time. Lilly allows me
a good work-life balance so that I can teach
young dancers after work.
How I Would Describe
My Transition from Campus to Lilly
It has been really smooth. The people here
want new hires to be successful. They give
you plenty of responsibility - more than
I anticipated. They partner that with mentoring,
training, and plenty of resources.
